Marjie Lee Spencer
is a veteran teacher of 28 years. She graduated
with her Bachelors of Science in Home Economics
Education with a minor in Social Studies from Utah
State University. She also has 30 plus hours from
Utah State University, University of Utah, and Southern
Utah State College. She has taught grades 7 thru
12, plus 9 years in the adult education program
in the Garfield County School District.
Marjie was the Garfield County
Education Association President, Utah Education
Association Elections Committee Chairman, Utah Vocational
Association President, Southern Utah Teachers Association
Director, and National Education Association Life-time
Member.
In addition to her educational
experiences, Marjie fulfills various civic leadership
duties. Marjie is currently on the Garkane Power
Association Board of Directors and has served them
for 10 years. She was also President of the Utah
Rural Electric Association and served as Escalante
City Mayor for two years.
Marjie is the mother of 3
grown sons and 7 grandchildren. Her hobbies include
gardening, arts and crafts, swimming, hiking, water
skiing, and motorcycling. She is glad to be a part
of the team!!
