Michael
E. Woolsey was
born and raised in Escalante, Utah. He is a graduate
of Escalante High School. While attending high school
he participated in wrestling and baseball. As a
freshman he was a starter on each of the varsity
teams. Mike was the pitcher in baseball and was
a three-time state qualifier in wrestling. His senior
year he took third at state in wrestling. He attended
college at Sevier Valley Tech.
While growing up in Escalante,
Mike had the opportunity to work for many of the
local ranchers. He helped them with changing sprinklers,
hay production, building fence, and cattle. Mike
also worked for a local construction contractor
where he learned to operate heavy equipment and
the Forest Service Range Department. Mike currently
works part-time on an off-shore oil rig. He has
worked on oil rigs for the past three years.
Mike's community involvement
has consisted of coaching little league baseball
and bantam wrestling. Mike loves to be outdoors
where he can hunt, fish, camp, hike, ride horses,
and spend time with his family.
