Poem written to Elaine and
Emilee for Mother’s Day, -- by Julie, Wisconsin
This
day is not just to celebrate the
Warmth and care that a mother brings,
But the love and joy she gives
to everything!
You gave us life, you gave us hope.
You gave us a smile, you gave us a
Home.
Though we are of no blood band,
Our hearts you hold in your
Loving hands.
We are forever with you, as children
Often are.
You are our leaders, our friends,
Our mothers by far.
Your love we will take with us,
For it is pure and true.
Your teachings we will remember
Because we will always remember
You.
“If
there is anything I’ve learned from you two
it was how important family is, whether is came easy
or not. You love me through thick or thin and for
that I am forever gracious. I love you both with all
my heart.
“I just
wanted to say thank you for everything you’ve
done for me this past year. You mean so much to me.
I love you so much; when I’m down, you’re
there to pick me up, and when I need someone to look
to
for help, I know I can look to you. You’re beautiful
and smart, everything I’ve always wanted to
be.
I know when I
leave, there will be nothing to be scared of. I’ll
be taking the biggest part with me, everything you’ve
ever shared with me. Thank you so much for loving
and supporting me. For the first time, I felt valued
because of you. You saved me, but more importantly,
you saved a life worth living. I just hope I can return
all that done for me one day. Do me a favor and just
keep being you. The world needs more people like you.
” -- Julie, Wisconsin
