“I
want to write and say thank you for everything you’ve
done for me. You have made my life so great and I
am so thankful to know I can wake up in the morning
knowing I would get to be in your presence. You have
given me so much, and I just don’t know how
I can repay you. When I first got here I was so upset
to get up, now I hate to sleep. I love spending time
with you and also being a family. You have become
some of my best friends. You have helped me succeed
in something I never thought possible; finding myself
and loving myself. I want you to know that I love
you. You are truly my angels.” --Laci, Colarado
“Everything
here has been pretty good. My grades are still good.
“Things
around here have been pretty depressing since our
friend Terrel died. His family is taking it pretty
hard. Every time I see them in church, I want to cry.
They’re a really nice family and we’ve
been doing special things for them. The Friday after
Thanksgiving, we all went up the mountain and cut
some Christmas trees. We gave one to that family.
They weren’t home at the time so we set it in
their house and they loved it. Elaine said we’re
going to adopt them as our family this Christmas.
It makes me feel really good when we do special things
like that for families. Okay, I’m starting to
cry now so enough about that!
I can’t
believe Christmas is already almost here. That’s
crazy! I’m so excited
to come home! I never would have thought I’d
be so happy to see my own parents! Well, I feel an
emotional surge coming on! I never did thank you guys
for sending me to such a great place! I love it here
and I’ve met so many awesome people who have
really touched my life. Elaine and Emilee are awesome
and I’ve fallen in love with them. They know
how to have fun and have a good sense of humor! I
often think about how I could have it so much worse.
I know that when I leave here, I’m going to
cry like a baby! Alright, I’m done. I have to
tell you that God is finally a big part of my life
now and I really enjoy church.
My
roommate is doing really good and I already consider
her my long lost sister! Two other boys are my little
brothers that I’ve never had. I get along really
good with all the kids here.” -- Hannah, Georgia
“Words can’t
express how I feel towards you, Elaine, Emilee, and
Mike. I’m just so glad my parents chose such
a wonderful place to send me with two beautiful sisters
with beautiful souls, and yes, you too Mike. All I
can really say is you saved me from being someone
I never wanted to be. You have helped me to grow and
mature and better myself. I don’t think any
of you will understand how much of an impact you are
on all of our lives. You have been such an inspiration
to me and a great influence. Because of your guidance,
I can now go on to graduate high school and college
and be a successful woman. I really do appreciate
you and all you’ve done. I’ll always remember
you and remain grateful. I promise to keep in touch!
I
don’t think I could ever be as devoted as you
guys are to a job like you do! For you two doing that
shows you really want to make a difference in this
world and you really want to help out. I’m proud
to say I’ve been to Lotts’ Legacy and
I’m glad I came. I always seem to forget to
count how many times I’ve been blessed but I’m
getting better. Thanks for always listening and always
laughing and most of all, for caring!” -- Hannah,
Georgia
“I miss
everyone so much! I’m so glad my parents picked
you to give me my “reality check!” You
will always be a big part of my life and I will never
forget the people who gave me a chance and brought
out the better person in me.”-- Hannah, Georgia
