| “Thank
you guys so so much for all you have done for me and
my family. I really admire you both, and your kids
too. I didn’t really know them before, but now
I can’t stand the thought of not being friends
with them. I hope you know that you have helped me
tons in the last few months. (brother was killed in
an accident)
I think you guys have powers
that tell you when someone is having a bad day. Watching
you guys become mothers to kids from all over is a
wonderful thing to me. And I hope that you both know
that you truly are mothers to those kids.
I hope that you all know how
much you mean to me. You are always there for me.
If I could honestly express in words how much I love
and appreciate you guys it would be a miracle. But,
please know and remember that I do. All of you and
your kids are examples to me. You have impressed me
with your kindness, talents, and charity. I love you
both tons, and don’t you EVER forget that.”

“Thanks so much for always
making me feel so welcome. I always enjoy
being around. You just brighten my day. Thanks also
for helping me develop my talents. I am always so
happy when you ask me each time to sing again. Thanks
for all the help in developing my talent.
I know you guys are always
saying how good of an example I am but that goes both
ways. I learn so much from the kids. I realize how
lucky I am for what I have; at home, in this town,
every where I go. I have also learned that if they
can make it through their struggles and situations,
then I can too.
Thanks to the both of you,
Elaine and Emilee, for your great example. I love
being around you two. Thanks for letting me be involved
with the kids and be part of the school. It’s
great!” -- Nicole, Escalante student
“Everything is great
here. For the first time my life is normal.
“I’m glad we’ve
had the chance to have time for ourselves to grow.
I’m so happy how well you’re doing, for
not just us but yourself as well. I’m proud
that you’re my mom and to be apart of your family.
I just needed time to see it. You were never a bad
mom. You’re the strongest person I know and
I have great respect for you. I hope when I’m
a mom, I’m just like you. You saved my life.
You are forever my hero.
“Elaine and Emilee have
really helped me become the person you’ve always
believed in. So, really, you shouldn’t be proud
of me, you should be proud of them because I am. They’ve
done so much I don’t know how I could ever repay
them.” -- Letter written to a mom from a student
